The nearest subway station is Östermalmstorg, number 2 city bus stops outside to the hotel, and the tram to Djurgården is only a few minutes stroll away.

Elite Hotel Stockholm Plaza offers 143 rooms and three meeting rooms with a capacity for up to 50 people. Service-minded and experienced staff will make you feel at home with us.

Comment: Struggling here... Nothing particularly positive. The location was OK and the breakfast on the Saturday was OK. Breakfast was inconsistent. I stayed Friday to Monday, it seemed stale on Monday. I slipped three times in the shower, luckily I'm able to stabilise myself. One day an elderly person may slip and you'll have a serious problem. One of the towels I received on day two of my stay had a small blood stain on it (maybe from someone shaving). Of course I couldn't use it and by the time I got back in the hotel I couldn't be bothered to call down to get it replaced so I just put it to the side. The bed was ridiculously soft. I'm not aware of anyone who uses such a soft mattress, this caused me a lot of back pain on day three of my stay. There is no thermostat. On day one of my stay the room was freezing so my body was warm under the blanket but my head was cold. On day two the room was hot. On day three I requested and extra blanket so I could regulate temperatures better. I also asked a receptionist on the Sunday about restaurant recommendations, he vaguley pointed in a direction and said there will be something "that way". Anywhere else in Western Europe this hotel would be a 2/3 star. Definitely not a 4. Because of these reasons I would not recommend it.

We offer a gym and relaxation area at our sister hotel Elite Eden Park Hotel. The hotel is located within 300 meters walking distance. Ladies and gentlemen have separated dressing rooms with lockers and a sauna. Here is everything for both physical and mental recovery. The gym is free for all our guests. The gym is 75 m2 with weights & exercise machines , free weights, carpets and pilates ball. For more info and directions ask the front desk.

Check-in is guaranteed from 3 pm the day of arrival and the room is at your disposal until 12 pm on your day of departure. If you arrive earlier to the hotel we provide a luggage room where we can keep your luggage until your room is ready. You can also store your luggage here after you have checked out.

We offer laundry service every day. Laundry left at the front office before 9.00 am Monday-Friday will be returned the same day. Express service is available on weekends.

Hotel history

A short trip down memory lane

For more than a hundred years the façade has been an architectural eye-catcher in this pompous part of Stockholm. The building has also been a hotel for a hundred years. In the early 20th century a night at Hotel Clara Larson cost six kronor. This is where Selma Lagerlöf stayed when she, as the first woman, received the Nobel Prize in literature, in 1909.

Through the years the building has been carefully renovated from the outside and in. The marble staircase that connects the four floors is one of many decorative details that have been kept. Stuccos, mulled windows, ceiling heights, as well as one or two creaking floorboards, are now part of the modern hotel. Elite Hotel Stockholm Plaza offers charming rooms with wifi, comfortable beds, stylish furniture and marble bathrooms with shower or bathtub.

Directions by air

Stockholm Arlanda Airport

Arlanda Express goes non-stop to Stockholm central station. Flygbussarna Airport Coaches offers several stops during the way to the city. Taxi from Arlanda takes about 30 minutes depending on the traffic. We also recommend that you confirm the price before the journey.

Stockholm Bromma Airport

Taxi and Flygbussarna Airport Coaches goes to Stockholm
Cityterminalen. Local bus 110 goes to Alvik, continue by metro to Hötorget and exit Kungsgatan. Walk along Kungsgatan down to Stureplan, turn left at Birger Jarlsgatan and continue about 100 metres to the hotel.

Directions by car

From E4: take the exit towards Norrtull and follow signs to Värtahamnen. After 400 metres keep right at the roundabout (Roslagstull) and och turn right to Birger Jarlsgatan. Continue about two km to Elite Hotel Stockholm Plaza, located on the right side.

Directions by train

Metro

Red line and Metro station Östermalmstorg, exit Birger Jarlsgatan.

Bus

Blue bus 1 and 2 stops at Stureplan that is the closest stop.

Train
