A Christmas Buffet with a Modern Twist
This year, Elite Hotel Mimer in Umeå offers a Christmas buffet unlike any other, signed by two of Sweden’s most acclaimed chefs: Tareq Taylor and Carina Brydling. Together, they present a culinary experience where the traditional Swedish Christmas table meets new ideas – where beloved classics are reimagined with a modern twist, and seasonal ingredients take centre stage.
Carina Brydling, rooted in the Nordic pantry and with strong ties to Norrland, brings a genuine respect for seasonal produce and the best flavours from forest, lake and mountain. Tareq Taylor, known for his warm personality and passion for sustainable ingredients and flavourful combinations, adds inspiration from both Swedish Christmas traditions and global cuisines.
The result is a festive menu that celebrates craftsmanship, the love of quality produce, and the joy of gathering around the table during the most magical time of the year. Expect everything from classic pickled herring with a twist, to creative warm dishes and a lavish dessert table filled with sweet delights.
