About Elite Stockholm Plaza

Built in 1884, the beautiful building at Birger Jarlsgatan 29 preserves many memories. The architect is unknowned, and no one would believe that this neo-classical building would still stand in all its glory over a hundered years later.

Many enterprises have been located here, among them Hotel Clara Larson as well as the legendary Restaurant Damberg, opened in 1903. The city property administration wanted to demolish the building in 1979, but the Stockholm City Museum opposed the decision, which saved the building.

Elite Hotels took over the property and after an extensive renovation the new hotel was opened in 1984.
