We can offer a gym on the fifth floor as well as a Spa and Relaxation Centre. The gym is free of charge for our hotel guests. In our Relaxation Centre, we have a common sauna, shower and a relaxation room. Our Relaxation Centre is available to hotel guests free of charge. Take the opportunity to relax after a working day, conference or shopping trip.
Enjoy a comfortable stay with your pets at our hotel. We offer a limited amount of rooms for those who want to bring their furry friend along. Stay together with your pet in your room for an additional cost of 300 SEK/night. Take the time to experience the beautiful nature and enjoy long walks around the hotel area during your stay. History of the hotel
In 1898, plans were drawn up for a building in Västerås that would house a hotel, restaurant, hairdressing salon, off-license, and function venue. After a great deal of wrangling and five years of decisions being passed backward and forward, the new building was completed in 1907. Architect Erik Hahr had succeeded in creating an art nouveau building is still regarded today as one of the most beautiful buildings in Sweden.
In the rear courtyard of the hotel, there were stables and a punch distillery, also designed by Hahr. Almost immediately after the hotel was opened, the name was changed to Stadshotellet. The hotel had 40 rooms, large dining rooms, a banquet floor, and a music cafe. It was also the first building in Västerås to have flushing toilets, which at the time was the height of luxury and a sign of progress and modern thinking.

By train
The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the central station. Walk from the main entrance across the street and towards the park. Go through the park towards the city centre. Continue along Vasagatan to Stora Torget and Elite Stadshotellet.
By bus
There are several bus stops close to the hotel, the closest is Vasagatan, about 50 metres from us.
By car from E18
Take the Rocklundamotet turn-off and drive towards the city centre (Centrum). Drive along Vasagatan into the centre, turn right to Biskopsgatan and then first left to Östra Kyrkogatan. The hotel is opposite the square.
By air
Stockholm – Västerås Airport is about 10 minutes by car from the hotel.
